Data entry and display help
All texts in the Sanskrit Library are stored in The Sanskrit Library Phonetic basic encoding (SLP1). However, the texts can be displayed in many different scripts, and text can be entered using encodings other than SLP1. Set your preferred entry and display formats under Preferences in the Text pane.
The following table shows what you type in SLP1 in red,
and what it will display in the current output encoding,
e.g. Unicode Devanagari or Roman.
The following table shows what you type in bold in SLP1 beneath the Devanagari or Roman it will display.
Additional information about SLP1 is available in Appendix B of Linguistic Issues in Encoding Sanskrit. Peter M. Scharf and Malcolm D. Hyman. 2010.
